The Silent Epidemic: Medical Error

Medical errors are the third leading cause of death worldwide.

Good morning fam,

It's a crazy reality that may not often make headlines: Medical errors are the third leading cause of death worldwide, trailing only behind cancer and heart disease. This fact, highlighted by John Hopkins research in 2016, reveals that these errors contribute to over 250,000 deaths each year—that's 9.5% of deaths globally.

The Underreported Issue of Medical Errors

While the CDC lists respiratory diseases as the third leading cause of death with 150,000 annual fatalities, John Hopkins argues that medical errors are underreported. According to their research, the way deaths are categorized and reported fails to account for medical errors, largely due to policy limitations. This oversight affects research funding and public health priorities, leaving medical errors largely in the shadows, underfunded and under prioritized.

The Discrepancy in Health Care

This misclassification suggests a critical need to reassess how we view and manage health care. The current system, often described more as a 'sick care' system than a health care system, focuses heavily on profitability and bureaucratic policies at the expense of patient safety.

So, what can you do?

Start by taking your health into your own hands:

  • Clean Up Your Diet: Opt for whole, unprocessed foods to nourish your body. This is the easiest and cheapest prevention technique.

  • Exercise Regularly: Incorporate physical activity into your daily routine to strengthen your body and mind. If you don’t have access to a gym then go for walks outside.

  • Use Water Filters: Ensure the water you drink is free from contaminants. I personally use a reverse osmosis water filter and remineralise with Celtic sea salt.

  • Family Time: Spend quality time with loved ones. This boosts your serotonin and regulates dopamine.

  • Personalize Your Supplements and Nutrition: Tailor your diet and supplement intake to fit your personal health needs by getting a DNA test. Check this one out.

  • Question Everything: Always scrutinize the science and health news reported in the media. The companies that can afford to be in the media prioritize profit over your health, guaranteed.

Stop trusting governments, the Pharma industry and mainstream doctors with your health.

By becoming more informed and proactive about your health, you can reduce your dependency on a flawed system and enhance your overall well-being. It's about questioning the standard practices and treatments that are often taken for granted.
