Increase Sales With Referrals & Nose Breathing

Hello friends,

Today is a shorter one. For two reasons.

1) I am packing to travel to Dubai tomorrow and
2) Sometimes simple better. Simple does not mean easy. It means the idea is simple and the execution can frighten or shake the ground beneath you.

Let’s dive in.

What I’m reading:

Ego is the Enemy inspired me to reach into another one of Ryan Holiday’s Stoic inspired classics: The Obstacle is the Way. It is teaching me to look at perceived obstacles and challenges in a new light.

For example, stop putting so much meaning onto everything, it is stopping you from taking action. Focus on the present moment.

What I’m listening to:

3X Actionable Insights on Biz, Health & Life:

1) Biz: Increase Sales With Referrals

Instead of spending an exorbitant amount of time and effort into gaining a new following online that you then spend further money in converting them into clients, try this:

Reach out to your current clients and older clients and send them a message asking them how their experience was with you. See the example message below 👇🏼

Hey (INSERT NAME)

I really loved working with you and seeing how much you grew from (A to B). I am doing some market research in order to better my offering even further. Can you share with me what you most loved about working with me?

(AFTER THEY ANSWER)

Do you know anyone in your life that could benefit from (INSERT THEIR BENEFIT THEY MENTIONED) to help them (INSERT THE UPSIDE)?

(WHEN THEY SAY YES)

I am really not a fan of cold calling people, would you be kind enough to introduce us?

Have a conversation. Do not sound all formal. Imagine you are speaking to a friend.

It shocks me how NO ONE asks for referrals from clients that have had their lives changed already. Please just be genuine about it. Sometimes you get negative feedback and then use that to iterate your offering as well.

2) Health: Nose Breathing When Sleeping

Nose breathing during sleep is far superior to mouth breathing. Why?

When breathing through the nose, air is filtered, humidified, and warmed, preventing infections and promoting better respiratory health. Nose breathing triggers the release of nitric oxide, improving blood vessel function and circulation. It also maintains optimal oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, leading to enhanced sleep quality, reduced snoring, and improved brain function.

Embracing nose breathing will bring you multiple physiological advantages and ensures a more rejuvenating and restful sleep compared to mouth breathing.

And sleep truly is the best health hack. Try this tape out to help you: Better Mouth Tape

3) Personal Growth: Gratitude Journal

Yes, I know you have heard this a million times but like I said in the opening paragraph, simple does not mean you actually action it.

So, it is quite simple:

  1. Buy a journal that you love or use Notes if you prefer your iPhone.

  2. Every morning during your morning routine, spend 5 minutes writing about everything in your life you are grateful for.

  3. Repeat daily.

  4. Bonus: To begin the habit, add this time into your calendar so you do not forget about it. Trust me, life becomes more colorful and more fulfilling after a week or two of this habit.

  5. PLEASE DO NOT say you will do this and never get around to it. Your attitude is what creates your world around you.

Something interesting I learnt:

The biggest source of anti-oxidants in the standard American diet is coffee. 🤯 This shows you the standard of health in the ‘land of the free’ and it also highlights the huge upsides of coffee.

Just don’t drink too much as it can affect your adrenals and no brew after two is my rule, that’s if I want a great night of shut eye.

App or program I’m loving to boost productivity:

Loom - it saves me hours of meetings every month. Instead of arranging a time that suits everyone just to show them the new look of the company website, rather record your screen while you explain as you go. This allows your colleagues and friends to watch it when they have availability on 2X the speed.

Loom has helped me save hours every week and it truly boosts the level of clarity and precision when working on projects or with other people.

Here’a to your supercharged week 🚀
