4 things I’ve banned from my kitchen

And what I use instead

Good morning friends,

Your kitchen should be the safest place in your home.
But for most people - it’s full of items silently harming their health.

Here are four things I’ve completely removed from my own kitchen - and why you might want to do the same.

1. Aluminium foil
When exposed to high heat or acidic foods, aluminium can leach into your meal.
Long-term exposure has been linked to kidney disease, neurotoxicity, and Alzheimer’s.

Better option: Stainless steel baking sheets or unbleached parchment paper.

2. Scented garbage bags
The “fresh” smell comes from phthalates and VOCs - chemicals that can trigger headaches, asthma, and hormone disruption.

Better option: Unscented, non-toxic trash bags.

3. Seed oils
Canola, soybean, sunflower - these belong in industrial machines, not your frying pan.
When heated, they form toxic compounds that fuel chronic inflammation.

Better option: Cook with butter, beef tallow, or coconut oil.

4. Styrofoam containers & utensils
Styrofoam leaches carcinogens like styrene and benzene - especially when heated.
It also sheds microplastics into your food.

Better option: Use stainless steel, glass, or ceramic for storing and reheating food.

Small swaps = big change
You don’t have to overhaul your life overnight.
Just start replacing these items, and you’ll reduce a significant toxic load from your daily life.
